    2. Distinguish between Deterministic and Stochastic effects.
    3. Describe key principles that help curb radiation exposure.

Short Biography

Nejc Mekis, PhD, MSc, rad. technol., MSc. ecotechnol, BSc (Hons) radiography. Professor Mekis is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Health Sciences, the University of Ljubljana, where he heads the research and radiology lab at the Medical Imaging and Radiotherapy department. He lectures in different fields of the profession, including emergency radiography, general radiography, radiologic technology, dose optimization, radiation protection, DEXA, and research in radiography. He is the author of more than 100 articles and conference papers and co-author of two books on radiologic technology and radiographic positioning. His main research fields are general radiography, optimization in radiography, image quality, digital radiography, dosimetry, and dose reference levels. He is the first and currently the only associate professor of radiography in Slovenia. Professor Mekis has been elected as the president of the Slovenian Association of Radiographers and executive board member of EFRS.

Jason K. Lee, MSRS, R.R.A., R.T. (R) (CT) (ARRT), RPA (CBRPA) is a registered radiologist assistant practicing in the pediatric division for Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. He performs fluoroscopic procedures as well as contributes to the fluoroscopy training of radiology residents, radiology fellows, radiologist assistants, and med-students. He enjoys giving lectures at the hospital, local, national, and international level, as well as publishing various radiology articles, including case studies. He’s currently working on his Doctorate in Health Sciences with anticipated completion in May of 2025..
