Short Biographies
Dr. Christina Malamateniou, PhD, SFHEA, MA (Cln.Edu.), Macad, MedEd, DIC, BSc (Hons): Christina is the Director of the postgraduate programme of radiography at City, University of London. She is a widely published researcher in medical imaging 9h-index 19, over 100 publications, with more than £3.25 million in research grants in her name as PI and Co-I and an enthusiastic educator. Her area of research revolves around AI adoption and education in radiography, person centred care and supporting the workforce in its recovery after the Covid19 pandemic. Christina is also the chair of the AI advisory group of the SCoR and the new Chair of research for the EFRS from April 2023-2025. She works as NIHR imaging science working group member and is an elected member of the EuSomII Board. She is an associate editor with JMIRS and a regular reviewer for Radiography. Christina believes in leading from the heart and in the power (and fun) of collaborative work.
Professor Amanda Bolderston, EdD, RTT, FCAMRT – Dr. Amanda Bolderston (she/her) is a radiation therapist, educator and researcher with over 40 years of experience. She is a Fellow and Past President of the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists and current Editor in Chief of the Canadian Journal of Medical Imaging and Radiation Sciences. She is co-director of the organization Queering Cancer and she recently completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the University Health Network in Toronto focusing on the experiences of queer and trans oncology healthcare professionals.
Yvone Thackray, BSc., MSc, FHEA: Yvonne Thackray is a Clinical Academic with a distinguished career spanning education, clinical leadership, and healthcare policy. Her recent roles include Senior Lecturer, Superintendent Mammographer, and Manager of the North Central London Imaging Academy. She has also served as NHS England’s Regional Training and Development Lead for the South West and currently holds positions as an Adviser to the New Hospitals Programme and a CQC Specialist Adviser. From 2020 to 2022, Yvonne chaired the Approval and Accreditation Board for the Society and College of Radiographers. With a strong background in diagnostic imaging and breast services, she is deeply committed to advancing education, workforce development, and service improvement. In 2025, she presented a research poster at the European Congress of Radiology (ECR), contributing to ongoing discussions on radiologic education and clinical practice. Yvonne’s work reflects a dynamic integration of research, clinical expertise, and policy influence to foster innovation and excellence in imaging services.
John Peacock, CRGS, RTR, has worked in healthcare for 39 years. His experience covers geriatrics, radiology, sonography, education and instruction. He worked for nearly 22 years with Health Canada, the University of Toronto serving remote First Nations in Northwestern Ontario. He worked full time to ensure the First Nation’s people in the Sioux Lookout Zone had quality Diagnostic Sonography in their communities reducing maternal and perinatal mortality rates to be on par with the rest of the country. He retired in 2017 allowing time for his other passion of educating and spreading the word about Adverse Childhood Experiences and the effects trauma has on children and the adults they become which he has a unique perspective on. His experience since that time also includes running the day-to-day operations at an emergency homeless shelter and now works with the Ontario Association of Medical Radiation Sciences as an instructor in the BRT program in Nunavut. John has spoken at conferences and colleges across Canada on his experiences working remotely with First Nation peoples, The Effects of Adverse Childhood Experiences, and has presented on Compassionate Health Care and Racism in Healthcare.
