Joy At Work : On completion of this session participants will:
- 1) Discuss meaningful communication as it relates to joy in your work.
- 2) Highlight the need for meaningful and sustainable communication within our areas of work and beyond
- 3) Develop an understanding of self-awareness in your role and how you contribute to the culture of your team
- 4) Discuss how your team defines success in joy within your workplace.
- 5) Discover how to create a safe culture for sharing, empathy and understanding within your work environment
- 6) Determine what psychological safety would look and feel like and how to foster it.
- 7) Develop an understanding of emotional intelligence and how to get support when needed
- 8) Develop a toolkit for your personal resilience
Compassion : On completion of this session participants will:
- 1) Answer the question as to why people in caring professions cease to show care.
- 2) Define the differences between compassion and empathy and why it matters
- 3) Discuss specific processes involved in the delivery of compassionate care within the clinical environment
- 4) Understand their roles and approaches to patients and families faced with difficult clinical dilemmas (cancer diagnosis; death of a loved one; loss of a child).
- 5) Discuss diversity as a key component in the provision of culturally competent care
- 6) Discuss the role of different care providers in the interprofessional team approach to care giving.
- 7) Recognize the need to explore self compassion as clinical practitioners
Burnout Prevention : On completion of this session participants will learn:
- 1) What are the benefits of being mindful to the brain.
- 2) A few practical exercises to bring mindfulness and inner peace into their days
- 3) How to be mindful while doing everyday tasks
- 4) How to be grounded and in the present moment.
