Short Biographies
Anna Simeonov, MSc, MRT (MR)(R): MRI Charge Technologist and MRI Safety Officer at Princess Margaret Cancer Center, Department of Radiation Oncology, Lecturer, Radiation Medicine Program University of Toronto. Anna has over 25 years of experience in radiography, CT, clinical and research MRI. For the last 18 years specializing in MRI applications for image-guided radiation therapy planning, cancer treatment response and adaptation.
Amanda Moreira, BSc, MRT(T)(MR): Amanda graduated from the Medical Radiation Sciences (MRSc) joint program between Mohawk College and McMaster University before heading to work in Switzerland. She later completed BCIT’s Magnetic Resonance Imaging program to become a dual-certified MRT. As an MRT(T)(MR) she has accrued work experience not only in treatment delivery but in both CT and MRsim as well as treatment planning and research. Amanda currently works as part of Princess Margaret’s interdisciplinary team in both the MRgRT and MRlinac facilities. Her interests include a focus on adaptive radiotherapy.
Kitty Chan, MHSc, MRT(T): Kitty Chan joined the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre as a Medical Radiation Therapist in 2006, she became a Clinical Specialist Radiation Therapist (CSRT) since 2012. Kitty’s primary role is workflow efficiency and process development while integrating magnetic resonance into brachytherapy workflow. She is a Lecturer for the University of Toronto Department of Radiation Oncology. She is the co-chair of the Ontario Health (formerly Cancer Care Ontario) CSRT Community of Practice, where she advocates for advanced practice radiation therapists in Ontario, Canada.
