Short Biographies
Dr. Prasaanthan Gopee-Ramanan, HBSc, RTR, MD, FRCPC: Prasa studied Human Biology at UofT St. George from 2005 to 2009, Medical Radiation Sciences specializing as a radiographer from 2009 to 2012, attended medical school at McMaster University from 2012 to 2015 and completed specialty residency training in Diagnostic Radiology from 2015 to 2020 also at McMaster University. Currently, he is completing his 1-year subspecialty fellowship in Women’s Imaging back at UofT. Prasa has keen academic interests in medical education, mentorship, and quality assurance among other domains. Outside of academia, Prasa is a lover of spending time with his wife, son, and extended family. He is also an Indian classical music enthusiast, a mindfulness and life balance practitioner, and budding cyclist.
Dr. Patrick Kennedy, MD, FRCPC, DRCPSC (Clin. Ed.): Patrick Kennedy completed medical school and Diagnostic Radiology residency at McMaster University. In his final two years, he pursued formal training in medical education and obtained a Clinician Educator Diploma from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 2018. He completed his Interventional Radiology fellowship at University of British Columbia and Vancouver General Hospital, where there was a heavy focus on transradial access, visceral artery interventions, and interventional oncology. He is currently Adjunct Lecturer in the Department of Medical Imaging at University of Toronto and a staff interventional radiologist at North York General Hospital where he has developed a transradial program for uterine fibroid embolization.
Mr. Alex Moukbel, BBA , I-MBA: Alex Moukbel is a Senior Sales Manager, Boston Scientific Canada, located in the GTA, Peripheral Interventions division. Alex has 11 years of sales experience in various positions in Canada and the US. He is a graduate of York University Schulich School of business, BBA , I-MBA. He worked in Vascular Interventional Radiology and Neurovascular divisions. Alex Won multiple awards over the years, including 3 President’s Club awards.
Ms. Valentina Al Hamouche, MSc., MRT(R):Valentina holds an M.Sc. Health Systems Management, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, University of London, UK and B.Sc. (Hons) in Radiography Anglia Polytechnic University, Cambridge, UK Applied Health Sciences Department, Division of Radiography. She has also received a FAETC: Further Adult and Education Teacher’s Certificate from the College of North-East London, UK (1991), and a Diploma in Radiologic Technology American University of Beirut-Medical Centre Radiologic Technology Training Program, Lebanon. In 1994, she has pursued further education and training in radiation safety sponsored by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) at the International Center of Theoretical Physics (ICTP) in Trieste Italy. She has over 25 years of radiography teaching experience at different Universities in Canada and abroad. She is a registration committee member at the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO). She is certified with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT). In 2017 she founded VCA Education Solutions for Health Professionals, Inc. In 2018, she was appointed to represent CMRITO at Accreditation Canada.
Professor Christo El Morr, PhD: Ms. Whyte is a CT/IR technologist at the Scarborough and Rouge Hospital General campus and a casual CT technologist at the North York General Hospital. Marvalyn has been a MRT for over 30 years, with 10 years experience in CT and IR. She has held various positions which includes general MRT, managerial, and teaching roles. She obtained her diploma in Radiography from the School of Medical Radiation Technology in Kingston, Jamaica. In addition, she holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of the West Indies in Management Studies, Economics and International Relations. Marvalyn believes in continuing education and professional development and has completed the Advance certificate in CT Imaging and Interventional Radiology with the CAMRT. Marvalyn is also a external instructor at the Michener Institute of Applied Health Sciences where she works with Internationally Trained Professionals in the Radiography Bridging program.
